The same thing happens when I try to install my Rosetta Stone CD. I couldnt play movies without going back to WinXP, so I figured I had an outdated version that didn't work well with Windows 7. Sometimes it freezes entire system but usually that is not the case.
It acts the way it does when you put a bad disc in there, and all you can do to unfreeze the drive is eject. I can't explore the disc or pull up any right-click menu options.

The drive is detected and shows up correctly I have update to the latest version of the frinmware WHen I put disc in the drive, the drive just freezes. At first I thought these were just software compatibility issues, but that turned out not to be the case.
Whenever I want to do anything with the drive I have to switch back to my WinXP boot. I never tried Beta, so I can't compare to that. I am completely unable to use this drive with RC1.
